Dinner Recipe: Oven Turkey Sliders | Chris's Kitchen Classroom
hi welcome to my kitchen I'm Chris andthis is my friend Bella we're going to
show you guys how to make turkey cheddarsliders sliders are little mini
sandwiches and these ones have adelicious sauce on top and they're baked
in the oven and I think you're reallyreally going to like them and so we are
going to begin by preparing our pan sotake a nine by 13 pan for baking them in
I'm going to go ahead and give it a goodspray with nonstick spray just in case I
don't want anything to stick and thenfor the sandwich portion we're going to
use these mini Hawaiian rolls they makegreat sandwiches and you'll see that
they're all stuck together and you'regoing to leave them stuck together and
you're simply going to take a breadknife which is a tall serrated knife it
has a sawed edge on it and holding themtogether slice right across as though
you're going to make this into one biggiant sandwich there we go and then take
the top half off we'll need that later
put the bottom half right into your panI'm going to try to squeeze in six more
so again slice the top half off verycarefully save that for later squeeze the bottom
half in just like that okay so now ihave the base of my sandwich ready to go
so next I'm going to spread somemayonnaise on there here we go this is
just regular mayonnaise right out of thejar just like you were making any
sandwich ok and then on top of that I'm going tolayer my turkey so just take some sliced
turkey from the deli like this anykind this is oven-roasted turkey but
any kind you like works I like to foldit up a little bit gives it more volume
and fold it into quarters want to dosome with me Bella take the slice fold it up a
little bit and then place it on therethen cheese goes on top of that so I
have just some regular sandwich slicesof cheddar cheese this is a pound of
deli turkey you can use it all if youwant but once you've got enough on there
for your sandwiches you don't have touse the whole pound you can use as much
as you like there we go can you hand me one more pieceof cheddar
okay and then we're going to replace thetop
like that and we're ready to make our sauceso the sauce is going to get melted
together in the microwave so get yourmicrowavable pyrex cup or some kind of a
little microwavable bowl and we're goingto start with butter so we need about 6
tablespoons of butter and remember thatone stick of butter is 8 tablespoons so
look at the markings on the wrapper andcut off two tablespoons that you don't
need and set those aside and open up therest and again I'm going to cut this
into pieces so it melts faster there wego and to that i'm going to add three
tablespoons of brown sugar here's my brownsugar my table spoon is the largest of
all my measuring spoons brown sugar youcan pack like when you're making a
sand castle so one
two tablespoons of brown sugar I'll close that up sonothing falls in it next one whole tablespoon
of Worcestershire sauce this is Worcestershire sauce it comes in a glass
bottle like this there are differentbrands that you can get but it gives
this dish a great flavor I'm going tolet you pour it into the measuring spoon
and I'm going to do it aside here sothat if we spill any it won't go in great put that in and
my final ingredient is going to be thisseasoning called onion powder I'm going to put two
teaspoons of that in it
One, two and I need that to melt in themicrowave so I can pour it all over my
sandwiches so I'm going to give it about30 seconds and then check it it might
need a little bit more though okay let'scheck our sauce in the microwave butter
all melted yeah it looks great so let'sstir that a little bit remember there
was brown sugar in here there wasseasonings worchestershire sauce so
let's get them all combined and thenBella just simply pour it over the top
evenly over the top of all of the rolls
great I'm just going to smooth it outjust a little bit here like that
now these are ready to bake in my preheated350-degree oven for about 15 minutes
okay it's been 15 minutes at 350 degreeslet's see how our sliders look hmm nice
and golden brown perfect don't forget toturn your oven off okay now these will
need a few minutes to cool as you canimagine they're too hot to eat right now
but as they cool you can slice themapart and serve them warm and they're
quite delicious remember the roles werenot separated when we put them in here
so you need to slice all the way throughso it's too hot to eat right now but
go ahead and hold on to it for a fewminutes and let's serve up the rest of
these they're really ooey gooey insidewhich is delicious so Bella here's some
food for thought while we're waiting forour sandwich to cool down enough to eat
it so when you're a student yourfull-time job is what do you know to do homework it's
academics right it's your full-time jobso you should do your best at your
school work put first things first do yourschoolwork have your priorities right
get your chores done do whatever yourfamily needs you to do and then there's
plenty of time after that for whateverother things you enjoy like video games
